Why do you need to verify my details with the Social Security Administration?
A Social Security Number (SSN) is required to open a digital account at Forbright Bank. Additionally, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain and verify information that identifies each person who opens an account. During the application process, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, SSN, and other information that will allow us to identify you.
You will be asked to provide authorization for the Social Security Administration (SSA) to disclose a one-time Social Security Number (SSN) verification.
This means when you check the box, you are authorizing the SSA to verify and disclose to Forbright Bank whether the name, SSN, and date of birth you provided matches information in the SSA records. This consent is for one-time verification only and helps us protect your identity and avoid fraud.
