How can I transfer money out of my Growth CD?

The steps to transfer money from your Growth CD will depend on when you want to make the transfer.

Before maturity: No transfers can be made for the first 25 calendar days after account opening. After the 25 days and before CD maturity, you can transfer paid interest from your Growth CD via monthly interest disbursements or via a one-time interest disbursement request. Please note that withdrawal of interest may reduce earnings.

You can request a one-time interest disbursement by contacting digital banking customer care. The option of one-time interest disbursement is available only once per CD term, and the primary owner of the CD must make the request.

If you want to make an early withdrawal by transferring more than your paid interest, you can do that by contacting customer care. Keep in mind that an early withdrawal of principal from your CD before maturity will result in a penalty.

20 calendar days before maturity: When your CD is nearing maturity, you can set your CD to renew or close on your maturity date and have funds transferred to another account on your maturity date. If you take no action, your CD will automatically renew for the same term at the rate being offered at the time of maturity, or you may change to a different term 20 calendar days prior to maturity.

To transfer funds from your CD into a linked account, log in to online banking and navigate to Manage Account, then Select Account to transfer, answer the Reason for Closing, and click Submit.

If your CD has not yet matured and you want to schedule your funds to be transferred to another account upon maturity, contact our customer care team.

At maturity: When your CD matures, it will automatically renew for the same term at the rate being offered at the time of maturity unless you have acted to schedule closure or renewal to a different term.

During the 10-day grace period after maturity: If you choose to close your CD during the 10 calendar days after maturity date (including the maturity date), you can transfer your funds out of the CD with no penalty. To do that, log in to online banking and navigate to Manage Account, then Select Account to transfer, answer the Reason for Closing, and click Submit.
