Our Layered Security Approach

Your personal information and its safety is important to us. As a result, we utilize multiple security layers to keep customer information safe.

When you log into online banking, we offer multi-factor authentication (MFA) to add secure layers of protection. To access your online banking account with MFA, you’ll have to provide an accurate username and password, along with a code sent to your contact details on file.

We require you to use a secure browser to access your account information. Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome are all browsers that support encryption.

Forbright Bank customers must create a unique and strong password to log in to online banking. This password will never automatically appear in viewable text on the screen when you enter it. However, if you forget your password, you can click “Forgot Password” and change it through a secure process.

For convenience and security, our primary mobile app (Apple | Google) offers biometric options to authenticate your account, including fingerprint or facial recognition.

You will automatically receive security alerts when certain actions are taken in your account, such as:

  • Password is changed
  • Username is changed
  • Forgot password is attempted unsuccessfully
  • Username is disabled

And within online banking, you can sign up to receive additional notifications.

The most secure way to communicate with us is to send a message to customer support through the Secure Message function in online banking.

Forbright Bank uses firewalls and monitoring systems to help protect our systems and networks from unauthorized internet traffic.

We monitor all account activity that presents risk, such as changes to your customer profile, changes to your account profile, and outgoing transactions. We may contact you to verify any suspicious transfers were authorized by you, the account holder.

If you have any concerns about the security of your account or discover a discrepancy, we’re here to help. Contact us as soon as possible so that we can address the issue.

Forbright Bank understands our customers’ concerns regarding the privacy of their data. We’ve designed various procedures to protect your information, including:

  • Restricting access to personal information, so that only associates who need the information at specific times, such as during the servicing of a customer account, can access the customer data.
  • Performing due diligence on our vendors and other third parties, which requires adherence with applicable privacy and security laws.
  • Maintaining physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to comply with applicable federal and state privacy laws.

Read our Internet Privacy Policy to learn more about how we keep your information secure online.

This may expose it to more security threats, such as exposing sensitive financial information.

Quick response (QR) codes are images containing data for your phone’s camera to read. Scammers can create fake QR codes that download malware onto your mobile device. Protect yourself by avoiding QR codes unless you trust the provider.
