Windsor Healthcare
How a growing senior healthcare facility is investing in renewable energy sources.
Share:
Overview: As a family-owned and operated organization, Windsor Healthcare provides post-hospital services, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care across 8 locations throughout New Jersey. As an organization committed to investing in more sustainable energy solutions and building greener spaces, Windsor and Forbright collaborated on financing options that met their operational goals.
The Approach:
- Forbright provided financing for the installation of 2.2 MWs of solar systems across Windsor’s skilled nursing facilities in New Jersey.
- The project is expected to yield over 2,600 MWh in electricity savings annually, which is equivalent to eliminating the greenhouse gas emissions from burning 1.8 metric tons of CO2.
Results:
- These solar systems will generate significant saving for Windsor – an estimated approximately $375,000 per year over the life of the loan.
- By installing solar energy systems, Windsor Healthcare will be able to generate ~30% of its energy needs from clean energy sources.
Joshua Jacobs, SVP Windsor Healthcare“We knew we wanted to use solar to increase our use of renewables and save money in the long run. What we didn’t realize was how few lenders really understood clean energy lending. Forbright gets it. They were refreshingly unique in their perspective of clean energy finance and were with us every step of the way to turn our dream into reality.”
Conclusion: Forbright’s deep experience in solar helped allow Windsor to finance cleaner energy solutions while generating significant savings in energy output and total cost. Ultimately, Windsor will be able to reinvest these savings in providing exceptional care.
